Every so often I discover something which changes my perception of what I need...

For example for years we have had either tea or coffee on arriving home in the afternoon.

However, today I discovered the sheer pleasure of a ginormous mouthful of pone.. Now to appreciate what I am speaking about, let me tell you some more about our love affair with pone....

A piece of pone has always been a light coloured, medium high piece of softy, squishy stuff which was eaten in tiny bites, because if you were to fill your mouth with it, your two jaws could become stuck together and become extremely difficult to loosen for several minutes due to the texture of the insides of the pone. The outsides of the pone were always slightly crusty, btw.

Now this piece was nicely chilled from a day in the refrigerator, it was cold to the touch...….

It was fairly thin, flat and less than the length of the first digit on your fore finger in height.

It was full of spices and in that first moment of my filling my mouth with it, every bit of coolness , spice and sweetness seeped into my brain and up my neck, reviving me slightly.

A few mouthfuls more and most of the 3/4 piece which I had located, was gone and I was transformed, revived enough to go on.

The cup of tea is now there to be had, and to see if I can bring myself to appreciate it like I used to....
